AI Policy

Plain English on how Your Way to AI Ltd uses artificial intelligence tools to build websites, automations and integrations, what is checked, who owns what, and what you agree to when you instruct me. This policy forms part of the Terms of Business.

1. What this covers and when it applies

This policy applies to every service: websites, AI automation and integrations, Google Review cards, hosting and updates, free mockups, and any advice or documents I give you. By agreeing a proposal, paying a deposit, or otherwise asking me to start work, you confirm you have read it and agree to work on this basis.

2. AI is part of how the work gets done

AI tools are used throughout, and they are a large part of why I can build quickly and at these prices. Specifically, I use AI to:

  • plan projects and turn your brief into a structure;
  • write, edit and shorten website copy, headlines, FAQs, policies and messages;
  • generate, edit, upscale, crop and describe images, icons and layouts;
  • write code for websites, Shopify themes, automations and integrations between your systems;
  • review and test that code, find bugs, check accessibility, performance and security, and fix problems;
  • build and configure automations that themselves use AI, for example sorting enquiries or drafting replies;
  • summarise information you send me, transcribe voice notes, and draft proposals, invoices and handover notes;
  • check my own work before it goes to you.

You are hiring a person who directs and checks these tools, not an AI. Every deliverable is reviewed by me before it reaches you. You get the same two rounds of changes whatever tools were used.

3. AI built into what I deliver

Some deliverables contain AI as a working part: an automation that drafts replies, classifies messages, extracts details from enquiries, summarises a day, or writes reminder text. These run on third-party AI providers under their own terms and prices, on your accounts wherever possible. They make a best guess and can be wrong, inconsistent, or unavailable. They are set up so that a person can review what they produce, or with wording you have approved in advance, and you are responsible for what your business sends and does with the output.

4. Checking and responsibility

AI tools make mistakes. I check everything I reasonably can, but I do not know your business the way you do, and I cannot verify facts about it. Before anything goes live or is relied on, you must confirm that prices, hours, service descriptions, claims, qualifications, insurance, legal, regulatory and health-related wording, and anything else that matters is accurate. Once you approve a round of changes or a go-live, the content and functionality are treated as reviewed and accepted by you.

Code, automations and integrations are tested with a mix of AI tools, automated checks and manual testing. This makes defects less likely, not impossible. Defects reported within the support period in your proposal are fixed at no charge; nothing is warranted as bug-free, uninterrupted or fit for a purpose you did not tell me about.

You agree not to rely on AI-assisted output for decisions with financial, legal, medical, safety or regulatory consequences without checking it, and that I am not liable for loss caused by unchecked reliance, as set out in the Terms of Business.

5. Your information and AI tools

To do the work I put information you give me into AI tools: your business details, photos, existing website content, brand material, messages, and the content of the systems an automation connects to. I use tools on business terms that state customer data is not used to train their models. I do not put anything you have marked confidential into an AI tool without asking first.

I never enter payment card details, passwords, government identifiers, or special-category personal data (health, religion, sexual orientation and similar) into AI tools, and I ask you not to send them to me. If an automation must handle your customers' personal data, it runs on your accounts, you remain the data controller, I act as your processor on your instructions, and a data processing agreement is available on request. See the Privacy Policy.

AI providers are mostly based outside the UK. Where data leaves the UK it does so under the provider's safeguards, such as approved contractual clauses.

6. Ownership, originality and other people's rights

On full payment you own the website and the content created for you, to the extent the law allows. Some AI-generated material, for example certain images, may not be protectable by copyright in every country; if that matters to you, tell me and I will use commissioned or licensed material instead.

I do not knowingly use AI tools to copy another business's design, text, images or code, and I check for close resemblance. AI output can nonetheless resemble existing material without either of us knowing. If you receive a complaint, tell me at once and I will replace the material; that replacement is your remedy.

You must own or have a licence for everything you supply, and you indemnify me for claims about material you supplied or instructions you gave. Reusable tools, code patterns, prompts and know-how I bring to the job remain mine.

7. Accuracy of AI-written copy

Copy written with AI is written from what you tell me and is meant to be edited by you. It is not a professional, legal or regulatory document, and I make no promise about search rankings, traffic, review counts or business results.

8. Third-party AI and software providers

The AI providers, platforms and services I use can change their tools, prices, availability and terms at any time, and I have no control over that. If a change breaks something I built, I will explain the options. Fixing it is priced separately unless a monthly fee you pay covers it. I am not liable for loss caused by a third-party change, outage, withdrawal or price rise.

9. If you would rather I did not use AI

Tell me before work starts. Some services can be delivered with limited or no AI tools at a different price and timescale. AI automation cannot be delivered without AI. Where you ask for a no-AI approach for part of a job, that will be recorded in your proposal.

10. Insurance and complaints

Your Way to AI Ltd holds professional indemnity and public liability insurance: [INSURER, POLICY TYPE, COVER AMOUNT AND POLICY NUMBER TO CONFIRM]. A certificate is available on request.

If something goes wrong, tell me first, in writing, and give me 14 days to put it right. Liability is limited as set out in the Terms of Business.

11. Changes to this policy

I may update this policy as tools and the law change. The version on this page when you agree a proposal applies to that work.
